After Lake Jocassee was established in 1974, Hoyetts Grocery & Tackle was soon to follow as the only provider of groceries, bait and tackle. In 2005, the buisiness expanded with a new building addition, new services, new products and a new name: Jocassee Outdoor Center. Today, JOC is the only full service operation in the area offering groceries, gas, bait & tackle, watercraft rentals, scuba diving, boat storage, boat services and guided fishing & sightseeing tours.
