Trout Tournament Results
January 13, 2007

Roy Phillips - 1st - 5.35lbs
Trout fishing at Lake Jocassee remains to be tough. There are many speculations and opinions as to why, but clearly the most prevalent factor is the weather. We have had unseasonably warm weather which directly impacts water temperatures and fishing conditions. In our January 13 tournament, we had 67 entries and three kids. At the end of the day we weighed in five fish; three Browns and two Rainbows. Roy Phillips of Greenville took first place with 5.35 lbs. Second place was taken by Ricky Ward, also of Greenville with 5.15 lbs. Third was Bubba Brunson of Spartanburg with 3.67 lbs. Fourth was Leon Baker with 2.43 lbs and fifth was Kevin Osley with 0.96 lbs. The next tournament is February 10. Roy Phillips did not register for the big fish pot so Ricky Ward is the current leader. We currently have $1,224 in the big fish pot and expect it exceed $2,500 by April. Bryan Lee remains as the leader of the Jimmie Orr Championship with 12.75 points.
