Trout Tournament Results
January 12, 2008

The January Jocassee Trout Tournament had 52 anglers plus two kids. There were 17 fish weighed in which is more than any other tournament that can be remembered and most of the fish were over three pounds. Zan Maddox won the tournament with a 7.0 lb Brown which netted him $705. As a result, Zan now leads in the Jimmie Orr Championship and he took over the lead in the Big Fish tournament. The kids did not catch a fish so Ryan Burnette retains his lead in the Youth Championship. Zan is an active member of the Jocassee Trout Club and given the focus of the JTC ("Improve the quality and quantity of Trout in Lake Jocassee" which includes a commitment to catch and release), Zan successfully released this trophy Trout. Great job Zan! 

The next tournament is scheduled for Feb. 9, 2008.

We had two kids sign up for the tournament:

No fish were caught in the kids tournament. Ryan leads in the youth championship.

Jimmie Orr Championship:

• Current leader is Zan Maddox with 15 points

• 2nd – Shannon Burnette with 14.2 points
• 3rd - Sam Jones with 11.6 points

Big Fish:

• Total registered for Jan. 12 tournament: 45
